How 'bout a fanmade videoclip? Would anyone be interested in participating? Would it be ok for Vratyas? Would it be legal anyway (all rights would go to Vratyas in the end)? When I bought Adobe Premiere Elements, I made a clip to "Donar's Oak" out of parts of a "cartoon" movie ( Walhalla) to learn how to use the program If this was possible at all, we would need to use material we own the copyright of, of course.

Can we see this cartoon clip? A fanmade videoclip.. It'd be a challenge! We'd have to discuss which song to take, and what the story would be behind the clip....how to realise the whole project. Hm, but don't you think Vratyas would already have done a videoclip if he wanted one?

Well, I don't know how expensive such a production would be, I think here it would be for free.
But I first wanted to kow, if there are people willing to help, before asking Vratyas and then not being able to do the promised because I'm on my own ;-)
I don't think so, as all the material used in the "production" is copyrighted...

I for my part am very interested in such a project. It would be something special.. Do you have any ideas yet?
I hope other members will answer soon.

Only very vague ones, because I didn't think about one single song yet. The only thing I thought about was NOT to use material from viking- or medieval reenactments... I think this is soooooo cliché. Something like this wouldn't stick out of the grey mass of videos made like this. A song that, lyricswise, could be settled in the here and now, showing "pagan" philosophy today, would be far more interesting in my humble opinion.

Well, this would make production very easy ^^ Except the parts with the moon. With your ordinary camera you would only shoot a pitch black image in the dark. The best clip in this vein is the clip of the wolf encaged (you probably know, who I'm speaking of - the guy with the mantal problems :-P ).

As Draumar said, I think too, that medieval themes are very popular (TOO popular) in videoclips of Viking- and Paganmetal Bands. (Not that I don't like some of these bands..;-)) And that's why we can't take it for Falkenbach! Falkenbach's music is something so special - it really deserves an exceptional clip. (If it'll ever come true.) .. Something very "würdevoll" I guess this is a very difficult exercise, but also very interesting

Do you know the "Ormurin Langi"-clip of the band "TYR"? (Can be found on their Website in their Discography. Labelmates of Falkenbach ) Now THEY had a great Idea, without giving the theme too much of a twist! Too bad this now has been done already. Watch it! The theme of love for nature is, for me, something that HAS to be in clips of that kind of music - but please, please, pretty please with sugar on top: NOT by means of some actors in cheap costumes riding dramatically through dense forests, knocking each other off the horse with their swords! That has been done a million times before. The problem is, that we can't really do anything that costs lots of money or uses excessive amounts of "(Not so) Special Effects". This would limit us in a way and give us an extra-challenge ;D And the whole thing would be a matter of how far it would be a community and fan thing, or semi-official. The more "community", the more we could bring our own points of view into play.

Wow this is really an exellent idea for a clip! I like it better than for example the "Regin Smiður" clip. (I saw it on their myspace..great song, but the clip..hm.. :/ although I found out it was partly filmed at the "Jomsborg Viking Festival". I really like the idea of keeping the viking or pagan spirit alive, but such "fights" just seem to me so...wannabe? hm difficult to describe.) I totally agree with you about the actors and such It's good you see the optimistic part of it That's right, but maybe there are some things/points Vratyas would like to have/ wouldn't like to have in a Falkenbach clip.. I wonder what the Admin or Vrayas himself thinks about this idea.

TYR is such a fabulous band... probably the second best thing that ever has happened to "modern" music - next to Falkenbach, of course *gg*
For me, they seem just like: "I can't think of anything else, let's do this..." And they are always so "unmotivated". Usually there's no reason given, why there are some guys knocking the Loki out of each other - and this is just a story badly told, and I don't waste my time with this kind of things %-)
Yea, but I expect this to be a matter of which song we would take, at least to some extent.
Me too :-)

The fact is also, that every song tells its own story.. So we'd have to be very careful that the lyrics are in content with the videoclip.. Just in general, do you have a song you'd prefer to take? (I bet you've already thought about it in the last days )

I would take "As long as Winds will blow" because it's a great song and it got very "flexible" lyrics. Have to think this over, but this would be my first choice.

Hah, great! This would be my choice too! Since you started this thread, when I listen to Falkenbach songs (which is quite often) I try to imagine a videoclip for each song..it doesn't work with all songs.. Some are just not made for it, but As long as winds will blow would be good I think.

I did that too *gg*
In a clip for "As long as Winds will blow" you could bring scenes taken at various sacred places of ancient cultures. I don't only think of old German(ic) and/or Norse ones, but also the Pyramids, old Greek temples, Stonehenge, Chinese Wall,... it all would fit perfectly to the lyrics. Well, the Germanic stuff should be in majority - it's Falkenbach after all - but it should not be limited to only this. Then combined with perhaps scenes of people who live "the old way" (don't know how to say this) in contrast with churches and christianity in general. To show "Hey, we are there, we are among you and we're no throat-slitting barbarians, we are people too and christian behaviour is insulting us."
Well, just some brainstorming ^^

That's a very interesting brainstorming, but there's a problem in it: How would we get the scenes taken at all those sacred places?

Well, Hildr used to be a regular visitor of this forum, she's from Greece (am I wrong?). I got "footage" from my travels to Egypt. Scenes from germany won't be that difficult, I got relatives in Australia and scenes from the US shouldn't be that difficult too.

I don't think I'm able to do that, as long I do not have the "tools" for it!
My only "tool" is my mobile phone which the pics I can have with it, are not more than 50-60kb, means not so good resolution!
