Hi! I'm new here and I'd like to ask Vratyas a question. First, I discovered Falkenbach a few months ago, and with it, the Norse and German mythologies. The thing is, before paying attention to the lyrics, I didn't know anything about them and I have to confess that my knowledge today is still rather sporadic and incomplete. I'll try to catch up... What I feel is that there's a whole world being dealt with in your songs and I'm concerned because I can't understand them fully. Anyway, as most of them are in English, I can at least grasp the meaning. It seems to me that each song is a story in itself, and that maybe each album is as well. (By the way, I really think the songs are written beautifully). So (at last), here is my question: Do you plan to write a book one day? Again, I'm sorry if the question has been asked before or if it is irrelevant. Gwaskadenn

Hi! I discovered Norse myths also through Falkenbach and some other bands. But there is no need for Vratyas to write a book (though it would be interesting) if you want to know about the myths. You should read the "Edda"s. These are two medieval books written in Iceland. One contains ancient songs about Gods and heroes, the other one is written in prose (actually, by a monk) and was made for bards to help them understand the old songs and metaphors. It gives a good overview over the Norse mythology. But I don't know if there is a French translation, sorry. The songs are often difficult to understand, but if you buy a good edition of the Eddas, there should be a register of names etc. You can also find many translations of the Edda on the Internet, so just try google.

Hi and thanks Owyn, I was not talking about a book dealing with Norse and German mythologies, but about a "fantasy" (though the term is not right) book, probably inspired by those myths. Thanks a lot for your information about the Eddas, I'll try to find them, either in English or in French. Gwaskadenn

I think I understand now. So you want to know if there is some kind of story that connects the songs? Hm, I also thougt about that. There are some songs which seem to me to be somewhat connected. I wonder if the "main character" in the songs (or at least in some songs) is meant to be the same. Hm, maybe this is up to our fantasy...But if it is like that, then the songs are not in a chronological order, I think.
