Hi, I have some questions about Falkenbach and hope I'll get the answers from Vratyas here.
In the beginning of Falkenbach career (‘94-‘95 or so) you used a lot of samples of nature in your music, almost through the whole song (I mean songs like “Galdralag” from “Promo ’95”, “Skirnir” from “Laeknishendr” demo and so on). It was something really cool and it created a really fantastic atmosphere for a song. Why you limit yourself now only with a short sample of sea in the beginning of the albums?
The first two Falkenbach’s albums were about the norse sagas and legends while the last two are mainly about German mythology. Why? Most of the songs that are about nordic myths as I know were written in Iceland (“Laeknishendr”, “Baldur’s Tod” and so on). On the other hand, the songs which deal with the german myths (“Aduatuza”) are more new songs. Are we talking here about some kind of thirst to your cultural legacy, kind of pride of your own ancestors or it is something else? And why you write namely about Tenkter? It is some kind of tribute to the people who once lived on a ground where now you live?
If I’m not mistaken, you’ve once mentioned an idea of releasing a double CD with the most of your demos? Are you still planning to do it? Personally I think it would be a wonderful present to the fans. I listened only to “Laeknishendr”, “Promo’95” and the demo version of “Winternight” but it was something really great!
Why don’t you do by yourself screaming vocal parts anymore? You did a great job on debut album as well as on “…Magni Blandinn…” so I really don’t know what is the reason.
You’ve also mentioned an idea of your possible collaboration with Patrick Damiani in some new folk project. Are there some news about it?
