A question sent by email:
Hi Vratyas Vakyas... My name is R. and i live in the town of Maastricht in The Netherlands. For years now I really enjoy listening to Falkenbach, and your newest release will only make me listen to Falkenbach even more. My compliments therefore on "Heralding - The Fireblade". I write to you with a few questions concerning some lyrics. I know your lyrics are really personal, but I still hope you can find the time to answer them. The lyrics for the song Roman Land are partially written in a old Dutch language and you refer to Manalis en Velandur. Can you explain to me who they are, or where i can find some written material on them? I only know about the Lapis Manalis... the stone of the underworld... but I dont know if I am correct thinking in that direction. And the second and last question is concerning the Skirnir lyric. You refer to Veraldur. Who do you mean by that name? Trust me... I'm really not a lazy person... hell, i spend the last few days searching every book i have about Northern/ German folklore, heritage and Mythologie... but i just cant find it! I hope you can find the time to answer my quetions.
With the kindest regards. R.

I´ve to say the lyrics for this song are not exactly an old form of dutch, but some old germanic language used at the (Nieder)-Rhein area back then. Obviously old dutch and this one are pretty close. Velandur (Weralder, Wehraldar, Wehrhalter, Wehrlander etc.) is an old germanic form of Veraldur, and therefore a God that most likely can be compared with Freyr. Manalihs (or Manalys, Manalis) is some sort of synonym (Kenning) for a Germanic Goddess, and can be translated to "Moonlight". It´s used by reason of her beauteousness which is said to surround her with a light like the moon at night. She is said to be Velandur´s sister, and can be most likely connected to Freya.

Is this a reconstructed language? To my knowledge very little old germanic was written down. I have to say that you show a impressing knowledge of the old germanic tribes through your lyrics. Is this a result of self studies?
