At 1996 was at a house of some of my friends (we were many together…had holidays that time)…and they had bigger experience in music than me…so they had at their CD case the “En Their Medh” album. One morning the most of my friends left to buy some things for the house, me and another girl stayed in the house…we didn’t knew what to do so we started to play some CD’s…after many disappointed tries, in my hands was holding “En Their”. Didn’t knew what was about to listen…when I first listen the melody was shocked (in the good way) cause I had never listen before something similar. My skin started to bristle from the top to toe and that period of time nothing was making me to feel this way…I didn’t knew what genre of metal was listening exactly (thought was black…but not as the usual black metal sound I knew and listening also that period) but for sure I was able to understand that this one man band was about to be my favorite one. For me that CD was (and is) one of the kind and still Falkenbach keeps this place. One of the kind!

Ah...what a nice topic. It was in 1997 when from an undergroung radio metal session they played the instrumental song from "Magni Blandini....".That was it man,I am telling ya.I was shocked.Completely stunned!I searched for the cd (found it quite easily) and headed right home to listen to it. When "When jalahorn will sound" ended I knew I had found one of my top 5 cds for life. And this still stands until today.I remebered that day I called all my metal friends-most of them moched me when I said "viking black/majestic metal"- and hit the repeat button on my cd player. When I leave home,I never go anywhere without this album, honestly.
Thank you Vratyas.

The first Falkenbach Album I bought was also "Magni bladinn ...". It was also the first viking metal album I got to know, but I must say I only have known this tipe of music for maybe one year. The first time I read something about the music "viking metal" was in a forum, don't know anymore where. It sounded quite interesting for me, and the first thing I thought was, this music should be epic, majestic but also can be very rough, such as black or death metal. And this was something, that I personally wanted from good music. So I bought one album which "spoke" most to me. "Magni bladinn ok megintiri" from Falkenbach. I liked the art-cover very much, with the longboats, and the warm colors,... but without listening to it before. And I never regret it. It was exactly what I imagined, when I hear such music.

Sometime late last year, this one guy on another forum posted his "top 10 albums of 2004" list... Ok Nefna Tysvar Ty was pretty high up on his list, and I had never heard of Falkenbach at that point. Now that I look back on it, it makes me chuckle, since the album was released in 2003. Anyway, I then went on to check out some of Falkenbach. The first song I heard was "Farewell", the atmosphere and melody are just amazing. I've forever fallen in love with the music since.

I had the chance to enjoy Vratyas' melodies the same year he didst spread 'em 'round the planet. I mayest appear snob but I already shared these kind o'thougts with him through an ancient way of communication: a humble letter made of ink and paper...with a tape enclosed (he doth possess the rarest and first medieval melody o'mine even if he ignores that hehe ;D ) What I want to share with ye all is just this mere tale o'mine past. You can easily understand that if I wrote him ten/nine years ago was because he shared with me his art and I didst appreciate it, barely. Keep wanderin' Vratyas and find what few art able to find! ...and thanks for share the esperience o'thine mystical journeys, with us That's all folks! ...'till next time...

I think it was 1 and a half year ago or so, don't know exactly. I wasn't that much into metal then, I listened to some Folk Rock/Metal Bands like Schandmaul or In Extremo and besides some Nu "Metal" and pseudo-Goth Rock. In a Forum, someone started a discussion about Falkenbach. I downloaded the sample of Vanadis and I was really fascinated by the melody and the style of singing. I think, though it is not very professional, it is very emotional. But there were always other CDs I had to buy and I found Falkenbach nowhere in CD stores and didn't like to order CDs. So I nearly forgot about Falkenbach. Later on, I listened to many Folk/Viking Metal and some Power Metal (good Power Metal like Blind Guardian^^) and got used to order CDs. Then I discovered the Vanadis-sample on my brother's MP3-Player and I got even more fascinated when I listened again.

It was a night in Winter 2000... I was sitting in front of my computer with a bottle of beer and was listening to a internetradio... I think it was friedhofsradio after some medieval songs from Schandmaul and Saltatio Mortis they started to play "When Gjallarhorn will sound".... I was blown away!!!
I doesn't know the interpret so I went to the IRC-Channel and asked them!
I never heard such heroic and pure music!
It was like love at first listening!! And this love will never die!

I can't really remember the exact year, but I first listened to Falkenbach on some festival... someone had a Tape in his car with Falkenbach on it ("Heathenpride" was the song) and I was completely fascinated by it, because this was exactly the kind of music I had been looking for for years and was unable to find until then.

Sometime in 2004, I listened to Vanadis on Gotham radio and what I felt was an epic nostalgic feeling like nothing I have ever felt before. I just HAD to get the albums and I did, and now I'm stuck with Falkenbach I loved it then and I still love it today and I don't think I'll ever stop loving this great band and great music!

I think a year ago a friend posted the lyrics from 'When Gjallarhorn will sound' on another Forum. Shortly after I got the mp3 File of this song and when I heard this song I only thought "Oh f**k...what a great music"

1999 I was in Zurich with one of my best friend. We were in a metal shop! I was seeking for black metal stuuf and I litterally fall on the second album of falkenbach! I listen it! It was a f**king great sensation between the black voice, the clear vocal and the choirs. I bought it and I'm still listening it!

I don´t know exactly but it must be around late ´97/early ´98 when a friend of mine gave me the "En their..." album. First I was not very impressed because the first song "Galdralag" was not very interesting for me (The same I think now nearly 8 years later). And I must say that I have not spent my whole attention on the album at this moment because I was occupied with something else at my home... That changed rapidly with the first tunes of "Heathenpride". It was a very strange feeling and the melody didn´t left my head for some days. I´ve caught myself singing and whistling the tunes. Something very unusual for me because back in that days I´ve listend nearly exclusive to Black Metal. Beautiful melodies and heathenish lyrics were something new to me. (Don´t get me wrong. BM "melodies" are also beautiful for me in their own special way but have not that "sing-a-long"-attitude). Some days later I´ve orderd the album and was very impatient until I hold the album in my hands. Until today "Heathenpride" and the whole album have a very special status for me. Excuse the horrifying english.

It must be ca. 6-7 Years ago, that a friend played "iinto the ardent awaited land" and i liked it, but strangely enough i never listened to more of the falkenbach stuff, but ca 4-5 years back, i remmebered that great song again and bought the second album - and then i was immediately hooked

I can`t exactly remember, how I got into contact with the music of Falkenbach.. I think, I listened to 'When Gjellarhorn Will Sound' at a friends home, without knowing the band. Later, I tried to find the song and the band, with success! I bought the Magni Blandinn Ok Megintiri album... I was speechless, my first thought was 'epic'! Since then, I was infected with the Falkenbach virus

It was on 1996 when I listened the first ...En Their Medh Riki Fara... CD edition. I remember saying "This album is such a kind of mixing BM with Dan Swanö (Godsend first album) inspired vocals". My favorite songs were Heathenpride and Into The Ardent Awaited Land absolutely! But there was when I listened ...Magni Blandinn Ok Megintiri... that I was totally amazed. The final instrumental track "Baldurs Tod" was the perfect clousure for this majestic piece of Pagan metal. Definitively my top albums are Ok Nefna Tysvar Ty and Heralding-The Fireblade and I'm consider myself as a devoted Falkenbach maniac. I was so glad to do my cover song (Into The Ardent Awaited Land) for the tribute album.
